Our Resort

A SUBLIME NATURAL SETTING

Amid intense natural beauty, with a coral reef on one side and a turquoise lagoon on the other, and bathed year-round by a warm, vanilla-scented breeze, Le Taha’a by Pearl Resorts epitomizes the remarkable tranquility of Polynesia.

Many destinations may claim to be your dream vacation spot, but few can offer quite the same sense of epiphany that rewards all those who make the journey here. You’ll feel overcome by a sense of calm upon reaching our far-flung destination, and maybe a little relief at leaving your busy life at home. Our location, on a small private islet – or motu – lends an additional layer of exclusivity and seclusion.

Nature takes the lead in Polynesian life, and we celebrate this lush paradise at every turn. You’ll see it beautifully integrated in our architecture, within our 59 overwater suites and beach villas; you’ll taste it in our French-Polynesian cuisine; and you’ll feel it in our rejuvenating spa treatments. Above all, these exquisite surroundings – filled with thoughtfully placed unique local artworks, inside and out – create a relaxing yet sophisticated ambience.

Like every member of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux international Association of hotels and restaurants, we see our role as guardians of our local culture, environment and culinary heritage, proudly protecting and preserving it for future generations to enjoy.

As an island nation, canoes have always played a powerful role in our culture. They are symbols of our adventures overseas and the vessels we trust to bring our friends and family safely home. We pay tribute to these sacred crafts throughout the property – you'll see a traditional Polynesian double-hulled canoe at the resort entrance and discover our reception area is shaped like a traditional boathouse. In this way, canoes symbolise your own journey and immersion in our lifestyle.

Far more than just another beachside resort, Le Taha’a by Pearl Resorts elevates every moment into an unforgettable adventure, offering a profound – and intensely personal – connection to an authentic Polynesian approach to life. We think you’ll take a little of this spirit back with you, when you return to the real world.

EVERY MEAL A MOMENT

Le Taha’a’s gastronomic approach blends Polynesian culinary heritage and local ingredients with French savoir-faire. The result is a uniquely delicious interpretation of our tropical setting.

Our chefs are experts in island flavours and cooking techniques. Using fresh-caught seafood, tropical fruits, local vegetables, fragrant herbs and spices like Taha'a's renowned vanilla, they create dishes that tell a story of our local terroir and which work in harmony with the hot climate.

They also elevate dishes even further by incorporating aspects of classic French cuisine, international influences and cutting-edge cooking techniques, to create a full spectrum of dining choices that runs from gourmet meals to comforting favourites.

In our main restaurant you'll eat high among the treetops, enjoying a bird's eye view of the lagoon; there's a fine dining option ideal for intimate gatherings and special occasions; and our most relaxed options give you the choice between eating directly on the beach, with your feet in the sand, or by the pool.

Alongside, you'll find a wide selection of Old- and New-World wine and champagnes, with carefully considered pairings to accompany more gourmet meals, as well as a comprehensive choice of classic and tropically inspired cocktails, beers and low- or -no-alcohol drinks. You'll find these at our all-day pool bar (which includes a swim-up option) or our tiki bar that's open later into the night – and, of course, there's always room service for those who prefer to keep things low key.

Wherever you choose to drink or dine, you can expect to feel carried away by the sea breeze and the rhythm of island life.

MIND, BODY AND SOUL IN HARMONY

Tāvai Spa is nestled in our beautiful garden, surrounded by fragrant flowers and overlooking our inland laguna. Focused on your specific physiological needs, or simply what your soul is telling you, we can guide you through the variety of massages, body scrubs and other therapeutic treatments we offer.

In this calm, natural setting, you’ll experience the best of Polynesian massage, an art de vivre considered a crucial part of islanders' physical, psychological and spiritual harmony.

The Taurumi massage is the epitome of the approach, named for an ancestral technique that deploys touch and massage along the body's energy lines to remove negative energies.

Before your treatment begins, feel soothed by locally sourced essential oils, including monoi, coconut, tamanu and vanilla – aromas that cascade through the landscape around Le Taha'a and which have played a key role in enhancing natural beauty in the region for centuries.

For one or two people, our bespoke treatments and rituals can restore, revive, rejuvenate and energize, so you can reconnect with your best self and emerge reborn.

ISLAND ADVENTURES

Taha'a shares the lagoon with its island neighbor, Raiatea, meaning that activities across both destinations are easily accessible to guests of Le Taha’a, with everything a short boat ride away.

Taha’a itself is a beautiful island to explore. You can hire cars or bikes to venture through its lush hillsides, take hiking excursions and see where vanilla orchids are cultivated.

Raiatea is renowned as the spiritual home of Polynesian culture. A ‘sacred’ island, it is considered to be the birthplace of the gods and houses numerous archeological treasures, such as ancient marae temples and intriguing petroglyphs. The first island in the region to be inhabited, it is home to the marae of Taputapuatea, once the center of religious and political power of all Polynesia, including Hawaii, New Zealand, Easter Island and the Cook Islands.

The island offers additional attractions, nature excursions and a chance to further immerse yourself in laid-back Polynesian life.

You can enjoy it all at your own pace, or let our concierge team tailor an experience to you, including private guides. In either case, we can arrange all shuttle boat connections.

UNDERWATER WONDERS

The pristine waters surrounding Taha'a are home to a beautiful coral garden that's teeming with life and full of astonishing natural colors. Drawing visitors from across Taha'a, it is in fact directly accessible from the resort, and guests are encouraged to explore it at their leisure, independently.

In these warm, shallow waters, you can get up close and personal with inumerable fish and fascinating reef creatures as you snorkel – from anemones to clams, octopus and rays, with ever-present butterflyfish, clownfish and parrotfish, among others. The tide will naturally carry you from the small reef at the edge of the islet to the heart of the coral garden with barely any effort.

he proximity of the garden to the hotel means you are free to return to the garden as often as you like, uncovering the secrets of the reef at all times of day, allowing you a glimpse of how this critical ecosystem functions from morning to night.

Guests can borrow water shoes and snorkelling equipment and our teams can direct you to the spots within the garden where the wildlife is most abundant.

ROMANCE IS IN THE AIR

There’s something inherently romantic about life in Polynesia – perhaps it's something to do with the relaxed atmosphere, the soft breeze and the sense that out here, far from the rest of the world, you can finally concentrate on each other.

At Le Taha'a, romance starts early, and often begins with the gentle splash of a canoe arriving at your over-water bungalow with a private breakfast for two. We'll set up on your terrace, then slip away just as quietly to leave you to enjoy the moment together. Walks on the sand, couples' massages and intimate dinners continue the romantic vibe – let us know about any special occasion and we can make helpful suggestions to make it even more memorable.

If you want to take the romance to the next level, there are a number of spots at Le Taha’a ideal for conducting wedding ceremonies, in cool shade or at sunset, with your feet in the sand, or on our very own heart-shaped islet, reached by canoe. We’ll talk you through all the possibilities.

From organizing officiators to planning wedding receptions and dinners, booking local Polynesian bands or photographers, and producing colorful leis and island-inspired wedding cakes, our planners can worry about everything, leaving you to simply enjoy the day.

POLYNESIAN MEMORIES

Find a memento for your time on Taha’a, courtesy of our two on-site boutiques. At the Tahiti Pearl Market you’ll find exquisite jewelry made using locally cultured pearls.

These are an emblematic symbol of the wonder of the sea life that surrounds us, and notable due to the particularly extraordinary colors they are found in here, varying from light grey to dark green.

You’ll discover a collection of bracelets, earrings, pendants, rings and more, including pieces designed for men. Additionally, commission a bespoke item through the Pearlery Concept service.

Additionally, head to our gift store to find more authentic Polynesian products, clothing, cosmetics and vacation essentials.
