Le Taha'a Island Resort & Spa becomes Le Taha'a by Pearl Resorts. Le Taha'a, the first Relais & Chateaux hotel in Tahiti and its islands, changes course and reveals its new visual identity. The color and symbol chosen mark the starting point of the Relais & Châteaux Route du Bonheur (Road to Happiness) in French Polynesia that the new explorers of our time take in search of authenticity and uniqueness.
THE EXPLORER
Le Taha’a is yellow. Yellow like the sails hoisted by the first Polynesians to freely explore the ocean. Yellow like the sand of the beaches they reached. That is why its symbol is the explorers’ double canoe, who set sail from here to form the Polynesian Triangle.
The first voyagers came to French Polynesia from the sea. They were carried here by the winds: pafa’ite, uru, maoa’e, to’a, niuhiti…
They followed the stars, reading the swell, interpreting the flight of birds to reach these heavenly islands in the middle of the Pacific. Free, they conquered the great ocean. They touched land in Taha’a, as in other Polynesian islands, after long canoe journeys, and were charmed by the beauty and peace they found.
Between reef and lagoon, Le Taha’a is a five-star hotel, the first in French Polynesia to be inducted in the great family of Relais & Châteaux. It is located a mere 5-minute boat ride from the village of Tapuamu, and 35 minutes from Raiatea airport. It’s by sea that our visitors arrive before falling under the spell of our property on its motu, one of the islets of the barrier reef around the “Vanilla Island”.
UNDER THE SIGN OF THE CANOE, A POWERFUL POLYNESIAN SYMBOL
As they approach the hotel, our guests slowly discover our suites and villas, the golden color of their traditional weaved paneling matching the color of the sand. The reception, shaped as a traditional boathouse, is another homage to ancient navigators.
Le Taha’a has 58 suites and villas, as well as three restaurants celebrating French and Polynesian cuisine, from snacks on the beach to gourmet meals. Our spa is well-known for its treatments, Polynesian wellness rituals that soothe, rejuvenate, energize. They restore the balance between body and soul.
In this hotel, our guests are free. Free as the great voyagers of yesteryear. From their suite or villa, they can walk the paths of the motu, rest on the beach, swim in the pool or in the crystal-clear waters of the lagoon, exercise on the water, in our fitness center or on our tennis court.
